Peta Siggers wins Excellence in Injury and Disability Management at PIEF Awards

Peta Siggers with award at PIEF

Congratulations to IPAR’s Veteran Experience Manager, Peta Siggers, who received the Excellence in Injury and Disability Management (Lived Experience) Award at the Personal Injury Education Foundation (PIEF) Awards held in Brisbane.

Peta followed her father and grandfather into the Army and served as a Medic for 15 years, deploying overseas and supporting our Defence personnel at home. During her time, she was drawn to roles that involved wellbeing, rehabilitation support and complex case management. Then, after experiencing her own injuries while in service, Peta transitioned from Defence to become a Rehabilitation Counsellor, so that she can continue to support the veteran community.

Today, in her national role at IPAR, Peta provides education and support to the many IPAR consultants who work with veteran clients and their families, using her lived experience in the military and rehabilitation counselling qualifications to ensure IPAR’s services remain veteran-centric and holistic. She also builds relationships with veteran and family supports in the wider community to facilitate engagement for veteran clients and their families.

Well Deserved Double Win at ARPA Awards

Representatives from IPAR’s Queensland team celebrate the national ARPA awards

We were delighted to see IPAR’s Tarryn Botha receive the Queensland Award for Exceptional Leadership at the 2019 Australian Rehabilitation Provider Association (ARPA) Excellence in Workplace Rehabilitation Awards, and then go on to win the National ARPA Exceptional Leadership Award too.

When Tarryn joined IPAR in 2017 she was leading a small vocational services team. Her commitment to quality service delivery, a seamless experience for all stakeholders, and industry leading return to work performance has seen that team more than triple in size. Tarryn’s supportive and collaborative leadership style has been consistently recognised by her team. Her staff regularly indicate that her leadership is a primary motivating factor, and an inspiration for them continuing to achieve the best they can for their clients.

Congratulations Tarryn on this very well-deserved win. To be voted most exceptional leader in the country by a group of industry representatives is a huge achievement. Special congratulations also to other IPAR finalists: Peta Siggers (finalist in the Queensland New Starter Award), and Georgia Williams (finalist for the National Same Employer Consultant Award).

Georgina Lamb, IPAR National Manager – Business Development, is the co-recipient of the HBGW Australian SSG Chair Award for Contribution to the HBGW Initiative along with Ms Simonie Fox, Group Strategy Specialist Rehab/Claims, AIA Australia.

The Award has been established by the HBGW Australian SSG Executive to acknowledge the enormous effort members devote through their involvement in the HBGW initiative. The 2017 recipients were nominated by their peers for significant and influential contribution.
